One place for the conversions you actually use
A useful unit converter should do more than handle a few familiar measurements. It should be quick enough for a temperature check in the kitchen, broad enough for an engineering calculation, and clear enough that you can trust which unit is active. ConvertDroid brings those needs together in one app for iPhone, iPad, and Android.
The app contains 60 conversion categories and 630 individual units. Those categories cover physics and mechanics, energy and electrical work, light and radiation, digital media, everyday measurements, and clothing sizes. Instead of installing separate tools for pressure, data transfer, clothing sizes, or resistor color codes, you can browse or search one consistent library.
ConvertDroid performs conversions locally on your device. It contains no advertising networks or analytics SDKs, and it does not require an account. Your favorites, preferences, and history remain on the device.
Browse by category or search immediately
Different tasks call for different ways of finding a unit. If you know the field but not the exact unit name, browse one of the six category groups. If you already know what you need, use search to jump directly to a category or unit.
The category library includes familiar measurements such as:
- Mass, distance, area, volume, temperature, pressure, speed, and acceleration
- Energy, power, resistance, electric current, resistivity, frequency, and period
- Data storage, data transfer, timecode, video size, and numeral systems
- Fuel economy, navigation, SI prefixes, clothing sizes, ring sizes, and hat sizes
- Luminance, illuminance, radioactivity, radiation dose, and Carbon-14 dating
- Concentration, moment of inertia, angular acceleration, viscosity, and sound level
Once a category is open, choose the active input unit and enter a value. Every compatible unit updates immediately. You do not need to select a second unit and press a separate Convert button for every comparison.
A workflow that stays fast
Conversion apps become frustrating when repeated tasks require repeated setup. ConvertDroid includes several features intended to remove that friction.
Favorites keep frequently used units close at hand. If you regularly move between pounds and kilograms, miles and kilometers, or Fahrenheit and Celsius, you can pin the relevant units instead of searching each time.
History records recent conversions locally. That makes it easier to review a result, repeat a calculation, or share a value without reconstructing the original input.
Configurable number display lets you choose decimal precision and thousands separators. A quick household conversion may only need one or two decimal places, while technical work may call for more detail. Display preferences apply consistently throughout the app.
Adaptive input modes provide the right keypad for the category. Standard decimal values, integers, hexadecimal values, resistor color bands, and specialized formats do not all benefit from the same input control.
More than length, weight, and temperature
Many unit converter apps stop at a short list of common measurements. ConvertDroid also supports categories used in engineering, electronics, media production, and scientific work.
Examples include resistor color codes, binary and hexadecimal numeral systems, RGB values, SMPTE timecodes and frames, typography, musical intervals, radiation measurements, viscosity, molar concentration, and moment of inertia. These categories use the same browse, search, favorites, and history model as everyday conversions.
The breadth is useful even when you do not need every category every day. A single searchable app is easier to keep available than a collection of narrow calculators with different interfaces and privacy practices.
Designed for phones and tablets
ConvertDroid adapts to portrait and landscape orientations. On a phone, the interface prioritizes quick browsing and a focused conversion view. On a tablet, the additional screen area supports a split-panel layout with persistent navigation, making it easier to move between categories and results.
That flexibility matters for more than appearance. A phone may be the fastest option while traveling or working in the field, while a tablet may be more comfortable beside technical documentation, a workbench, or a classroom notebook.
Choosing a dependable unit converter
When evaluating a converter app, look beyond the total number of units. A dependable tool should identify units clearly, make the active input obvious, update results consistently, and let you return to frequent work without unnecessary setup. It should also explain its privacy model rather than requiring an account for basic arithmetic.
ConvertDroid is built around those principles: a broad library, immediate results, reusable favorites and history, device-appropriate layouts, and local data storage. Whether the task is an everyday measurement or a specialized technical category, the interaction remains familiar.
